After nearly a decade of practice and being nudged by friends, I finally started to teach yoga. In 2007 I became the owner of Shanti Yoga Studio. A respite to become acquainted with yourself in mindful practice with a supportive community, where every person matters.

Everything that I have learned on my journey has become a part of the diversity of what I teach. I am drawn to the mystical and alternative forms of healing but also love practical science. I have studied many styles of yoga. Inspired by my body's emotional or physical needs, or what my client's needs have been. I offer Reiki as a form of energy work, which is very complimentary to a yoga practice, or on its own. Astrology is another useful tool that I draw on. I studied for 2 years at the College of Mystical studies.

Over the years what I have observed is that there is no one particular style of yoga that works for everyone all of the time. Often the work I do with a client does not even resemble a typical yoga practice. We all have different needs at different times in our lives.

Having experienced traumas, I have a great appreciation for the sensitivity and painful process of healing. I have studied the neurobiology of trauma. I have experienced that working with the body, as well as the mind is important for the healing process to be complete. I am intuitive, compassionate, patient, and have many skills upon which to draw when working with clients. I prefer to work one-on-one, or in small like-minded groups. I have found this to be most beneficial for someone looking for safe guided practices. This is especially useful for recovery from injury, illness, and emotional or physical traumas.

I am also a Personal Chef. If your life is too busy to ensure healthy eating, or you are unsure of which healthy food choices are best for you I can help. If you would like more information or would like to see if this would be a good fit for your lifestyle please connect with me. I love good food, and I love to cook!

Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.
